The Don Knotts Special

Los Angeles: Tomka Productions, 1967. Final Draft script for the 1967 television special, which originally aired on October 26, 1967, on CBS. Specially bound copy belonging to uncredited screenwriter Ken [Kenneth] Hecht, with his name on the front board. Included with the script are seven black-and-white reference photographs from the special.

A music and comedy variety show hosted by Don Knotts, featuring his longtime co-star Andy Griffith, dancer Juliet Prowse, and country pop musical group The Kids Next Door.

Script housed in a green leather spring binder. Title page present, dated 8/30/67, noted as FINAL DRAFT. 103 leaves, with last page of text numbered 87. Mimeograph duplication on white and blue stock, rectos only, with a revised rehearsal schedule on pink stock bound in before the script, dated September 3, 1967. Pages Very Good plus, with silverfish damage on the final leaf, binder Very Good plus.
