Burbank, CA: Warner Brothers, 1971. Final script for the 1972 feature-length television pilot, which originally aired on February 21, 1972, on NBC.
A science fiction thriller about a technologically advanced group of detectives known as "probes," following one such figure as he searches for a valuable cache of gemstones hidden by Nazis during World War II. The series was later picked up by NBC and renamed "Search," since "Probe" was already in use by a different series.
Screenwriter Leslie Stevens is better remembered today as the creator of the cult science fiction television series "The Outer Limits" (1963-1965), and as the director of the 1966 horror film "Incubus," starring William Shatner.
