Screenwriter David Atkins' directorial debut, a criminally overlooked black comedy. Steve Martin is an innocuous, straight-laced dentist, engaged to his ambitious dental hygienist, played by Laura Dern. Martin's life is pulled into a maelstrom of sex, drugs, and murder when an alluring Helena Bonham Carter comes in to his office seeking a root canal and pain killers.

Shot on location in Illinois and Wisconsin.
