Original flyer for two performances by The Shams, circa 1990s
N.p. N.p., Circa 1990s. Vintage postcard flyer for two performances by New York folk pop trio The Shams: one on April 20 at Maxwell's in Hoboken, and the other on April 21 at Tomkins Park Restaurant. The April 20 announcement also notes an appearance by Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey of the dB's later the same day.
The Shams were founded by Amy McMahon Rigby, Sue Garner, and Amanda Uprichard in the 1980s, originally performing under the name the Last Roundup. The group released only one album, "Quilt," on Matador Records in 1991, long out of print today. Rigby would go on to find success as a solo artist, starting with her 1996 album "Diary of a Mod Housewife."
5.5 x 4.4 inches. Printed on recto only, with postmark and mailing address label on the verso. Very Good plus.
