Heavyweight Champ "Brown Bomber" Joe Louis stars as himself, "The Champ," who tries to be a good influence on a group of Harlem youths tempted by racketeer "The Caper," an older brother of one of the youths who has just gotten out of the Army. Featuring one of Ruby Dee's earliest film performances.
Set in and shot on location in New York City.
1) 8 x 6.5 inches. 1) 9.25 x 7.5 inches. 3) 10 x 8 inches. Good to Very Good overall, with even toning, pinholes, light creasing, and small closed tears. One photograph with emulsion irregularities, three photographs with modest bruising and chipping, and three photographs with archival tape repairs on the verso.
