After a successful stage career, Holmes transitioned to film acting during the silent era. By the 1940s, he had appeared in supporting roles in multiple films noir, including "Kiss of Death" (1947) and "Act of Violence" (1949). He is perhaps best remembered today for his performance as Mr. Esmond Sr. in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (1953).
Photographs range in size from 3.5 x 5 inches to 5 x 8 inches. Generally Very Good plus.
