A dramatization of the life of controversial German scientist Wernher von Braun, who was integral in the creation of the German V-2 rocket during World War II, and a pioneer of space travel and satellites during his later time in the US. The film garnered controversy upon release due to its superficial treatment of von Braun's affiliation with the Nazi party during his time in Germany, and was picketed in America, Germany, and Britain by antifascist and communist demonstrators.
