Based on Borden Deal's 1957 novel "Dunbar's Cove," and on William Bradford Huie's 1942 novel "Mud on the Stars." In 1937, the head of the Tennessee Valley Authority's land purchasing office faces off against powerful, generations-old landowners, who refuse to sell their properties.

Set and shot on location throughout Tennessee, in Cleveland, Bradley County, and Charleston, and on Coon Denton Island on the Hiwassee River.
