Crossroads Community / The Farm

Los Angeles: N.p., Circa 1979. Vintage proposal for an expansion of Crossroads Community, also known as The Farm, a combined performance art piece, community center, and environmental project located at the corner of Cesar Chavez Street (then known as Army Street) and Potrero Avenue in San Francisco.

Created by Bonnie Sherk and Jack Wickert in 1974, the seven-acre site served multiple community functions—farm, library, preschool, event venue, and more—until 1980, when the city parks department began the process of converting the space into a traditional urban park.

The proposal includes a budget, a brief history of the project and its impact on the community, a discussion of long-range goals, and press coverage of the project.

39 leaves. Near Fine, with a transparent front wrapper and no rear wrapper, presumably as issued, with a white Velo binding.
