Austro-Hungarian stage and film actor Paul Muni was considered to have been one of Warner Brothers' most prestigious players of the 1930s, granted the rare privilege of choosing his own roles, including his most famous performance as the titular character in the 1932 film "Scarface." Muni was nominated for five Academy Awards throughout his career, winning one in 1936 for "The Story of Louis Pasteur," and received a Tony Award for his role in the 1955 production of "Inherit the Wind."
