L'Élan: No. 1

Paris: L'Élan, 1915. The premier issue of art magazine "L'Élan," published on April 15, 1915. INSCRIBED by founder and artist Amédée Ozenfant on the first page: "À Monsieur Laloy / Ozenfant." Text in French.

The magazine ran for ten issues, presenting French art and poetry side-by-side. It became an early space for Ozenfant to begin formulating the doctrines of Purism, ultimately laid out in a 1918 book, "Après le cubisme," co-written with Le Corbusier.

Bruise on the top left corner of the first page, else Near Fine, unbound, comprised of three 20 x 12.75 inch leaves folded to create 12 pages.
