Along These Streets
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1942. First Edition. INSCRIBED by the author on the front endpaper, "To Beatrice and Bruce with deep affection and equal admiration, Struthers Burt / Nov 18 /41 / Southern Pines."
Beatrice Blackmar Gould and her husband Bruce Gould were co-editors of the "Ladies Home Journal" from 1935 through 1962. It was under their leadership that the magazine became the top-selling women's magazine in the country for nearly 30 years, largely due to their efforts to modernize the journal and broaden its subject matter for the emancipated woman. The pair co-wrote the autobiography, "American Story: Memories and Reflections of Bruce Gould and Beatrice Blackmar Gould," published by Harper and Row in 1968.
Very Good plus lacking the dust jacket. Slightly cocked, with light toning to the spine.
