Two original publicity photographs of Ivory Joe Hunter

Various American Cities: Various, 1950s. Two vintage publicity photographs of prolific African-American songwriter, pianist, and singer Ivory Joe Hunter in the 1950s, one dating from his time with MGM Records, the other dating from his time with Atlantic Records. One with a Dell Publishing stamp on the verso.

Hunter recorded across many genres, including blues, R&B, boogie-woogie, and country, and he performed at both the Monterey Jazz Festival and the Grand Ole Opry. His songs were covered by Pat Boone, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many others.

8 x 10 inches. One Near Fine, the other Very Good plus, with layout annotations in manuscript ink and pencil on the recto.
