Actor and director Jean-Lois Barrault was a significant figure in postwar French theatre, staging both avant-garde and classic plays. Barrault served as the director of Théâtre de France from 1959 to 1969, as director of the Théâtre des Nations in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and founded the Théâtre d'Orsay in 1974.

Very Good or better in perfect-bound wrappers, with front hinge shaky, splitting at the heel, and a faint numeric annotation in manuscript pencil on the title page.
