Lewis and Davis were lifelong friends and shared a close professional relationship, although they only worked on one film together, the 1970 film "One More Time," directed by Lewis and starring Davis and Peter Lawford. Davis was a regular guest on Lewis' MDA Labor Day Telethon and was honored by Lewis during the 1990 telethon following Davis' passing.
