One of an edition of 100 images (this being No. 25) struck by the photographer in 1993 in a limited edition of 50 prints each. Signed, titled, and numbered by Wentzell, with his blindstamp, in the bottom margin, and additionally signed by Wentzell with his photographer's stamp on the verso.
Barrie Wentzell began his career as a photographer after meeting photojournalist Maurice Newcombe in the early 1960s. In 1965 Wentzell photographed a young Diana Ross during a chance encounter which made a riveting cover for the renowned music magazine The Melody Maker. Wentzell was soon hired as the exclusive chief photographer for the magazine, and from 1965 to 1975 photographed many of the most iconic musicians of the period, many unknown at the time, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, as well as celebrated artists such as Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, and countless more.
