One of only two original feature-length original screenplays written by Maya Angelou (the other being the 1972 television movie "Georgia, Georgia").

In a small town in North Carolina, a young schoolteacher's life is upended with the arrival of her younger sisters, who challenge her straitlaced, ultra-moral attitude towards life. Filmed in 1979 but not aired until 1982.

Set in North Carolina and shot on location in Montgomery and Opelika, Alabama.
