"Contrordre" was founded by writer Tony Cartano in 1971, and aimed to bring literature, poetry, art, and photography together. The quarterly publication folded after four years, after the publication of the eighth issue, and was the subject of a 2023 exhibition at École supérieure d'art et design Le Havre-Rouen.
