Beverly Hills, CA: D.W. Griffith Productions / United Artists, 1924. Two vintage studio still photographs from the 1924 silent film, one showing Carol Dempster and Neil Hamilton, the other showing Hamilton alone. Both with "Made in USA" stamps on the versos.

Based on a short story by Geoffrey Moss, originally published in his 1923 book "Defeat." After World War I, Polish immigrants relocate to Germany, only to find themselves struggling to survive as the country faces political and financial turmoil.

Shot on location in Germany and Austria.
