Based on Roy Horniman's 1904 novel "Bellamy the Magnificent." In Paris, a womanizer agrees to tend to an abandoned infant. Horniman's 1907 novel "Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal" served as the basis for the 1949 black comedy "Kind Hearts and Coronets."
