Beatty and Wood co-starred in Elia Kazan's 1961 period drama "Splendor in the Grass." The pair's highly publicized affair contributed to Wood's separation from her then-husband, Robert Wagner, in April of 1962, and Wood attended Cannes a newly divorced woman.
