Considered by many to be McCoy's finest novel, basis for the 1950 film noir starring James Cagney and Barbara Payton.

Board edges lightly toned, slight fray to the crown, else Near Fine in a Very Good plus dust jacket with publisher's price-clip. Jacket spine lightly faded, with shallow chips to the spine ends and corners, and a faint, narrow tide mark to the top edge of the front flap.
