Parts Pups
N.p. The Genuine Parts Company, 1953-1964. Run of 38 issues of the monthly joke magazine, variously including issues from 1953 through 1964.
Collection includes: April, September, and October of 1953; May, July, August, and November of 1954; June and October of 1955; April and July of 1956; September, October, and November of 1957; March, August, and December of 1958; March, August, October, November, and December of 1959; January, March, July, October, and November of 1960; March, September, October, November, and December of 1961; June, September, October, and December of 1962; and November of 1964.
"Parts Pups" was published by the Genuine Parts Company (the parent company of National Auto Parts Association, or NAPA) between 1931 and 1996. The magazine featured jokes, longer humor stories, and cartoons, and was sold at automobile parts stores. By the 1980s, the magazines got decidedly raunchier, and began featuring pinup models on the front wrappers instead of advertising placements.
8.5 x 11.25 inches. Generally Very Good to Very Good plus, with some occasional dampstaining, creasing, soil, and annotations in manuscript ink.
