The first full-length release by the infamous Melbourne band The Birthday Party, the 1981 album "Prayers On Fire" quickly became a watershed event for the post-punk and early goth movements, and was the genesis of the legendary career of vocalist Nick Cave. The band only released two LPs before disbanding in 1982, with several groups emerging from the dissolution, including Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Crime and the City Solution, and These Immortal Souls.
