77 Sunset Strip

Burbank, CA: Warner Brothers Television, Circa early 1960s. Collection of 28 vintage photographs from the 1958-1964 ABC television series. The collection includes five film still photographs, fourteen reference photographs, and nine publicity photographs. Ten of the photographs have mimeo snipes affixed to the versos, two have mimeo snipes printed on the versos, and ten with small ink annotations of reference numbers in the bottom right margins.

Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Roger Smith star as Stu Bailey and Jeff Spencer, two wisecracking, womanizing private detectives who work out of an office at 77 Sunset Strip, Los Angeles. At the swanky restaurant next door works the finger-snapping, slang-talking "Kookie" (memorably played by Edd Byrnes) who is occasionally called in by Stu and Jeff to help with cases.

The private detective crime series aired on ABC, premiering on October 10, 1958 and aired for six seasons, totaling 206 episodes, ending on February 7, 1964.

Set in and shot on location in Los Angeles, California.
