Universal City: Universal Pictures, 1952. Six vintage publicity photographs from the premiere of the classic 1952 Western film, held in Portland, Oregon, during the state's Covered Wagon Centennial festivities. One with a printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso.
Notable are two photographs of James Stewart with the Cavemen of Grants Pass, a booster club that attended public events dressed in wigs and animal skins to promote tourism in Josephine County. Stewart is shown eating raw meat and wearing a caveman wig in order to be inducted into the group.
