Basis for the classic 1947 film noir starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, for which Jack Warner was the executive producer.

Near Fine in a bright, Very Good plus dust jacket. Jacket is in nice condition for this title, with none of the usual fading to the spine panel, only some shallow creasing at the crown and top front panel, and strip of offsetting to the bottom rear panel (see images).

Inscribed by Goodis during his brief tenure as a screenwriter in Hollywood. A rare signature and a fabulous association. In a quarter-leather custom clamshell box.
