New York: George H. Doran, 1926. First Edition. Adapted from the 1920 play by Mary Roberts Rinehart and Avery Hopwood, in turn based on Rinehart's 1908 novel "The Circular Staircase." Basis for three film adaptations: "The Bat" in 1926, "The Bat Whispers" in 1930, and "The Bat" in 1959. "The Bat Whispers" was named in Bob Kane's 1989 autobiography as the inspiration for his famed comic creation Batman.

Very Good plus, with light fray to the corners and light bruising to the title page, in a Very Good or better dust jacket. Jacket moderately edgeworn, with a scratch and a few small splashes to the front panel and a few short closed tears that have been repaired with old cello tape on the verso.
